Concord Chair by Claesson Koivisto Rune for Capdell

Modularity has become key in the development of furniture, offering users the opportunity to adapt and customize pieces according to their needs. Claesson koivisto rune's 'Concord' for Capdell is an arm chair system divided horizontally into layers, allowing one to adjust the height of the back rest through a colorful series of interchangeable panels--variations on a basic structure which can be built-up using one, two, or three horizontal pieces of combed plywood, combined in different sizes and finishings of upholstery, wood or both. The seat itself can be supported by either wooden legs, a sled steel base, or swivel base option.

Bringing together their nordic background and style through natural wood tones, with mediterranean warmth and color found in the vivid tones of the integrated textiles, Claesson Koivisto Rune have conceived the 'Cconcord' chair as a visual representation of levels, building on this idea of layering both literally and conceptually.
