Created by, and in the likeness of Swedish designer Gabriel Särkijärvi, the backrest of the chair employs a raster technique that together with a contrasting background forms an illusion of a greyscale picture. To make the rasters sufficiently detailed MDF-board templates were cut out using a laser cutter. The templates were then used to mill out the final rasters in birch wood.
