Unfolded Seats by Jule Waibel

The designer’s description

"The collection plays upon the idea of unfolding a stone. The rounds are crafted from 100% wool felt and folded so that they point like a cone at the top. The plush seats echo the round form of a boulder and are dyed a variety of earthy colors. Ornamental and comfortable, the designs have a natural, striking presence and contour to the user’s body."

DERELICT FURNITURE BY TÕNIS KALVE & AHTI GRÜNBERG

"Derelict Furniture by Tõnis Kalve & Ahti Grünbergreclaims wood from industrial scrap, selected woodpiles and abandoned sheds, upcycling it into fine furnishings, where imperfections add distinction.
Sources include the likes of "a restricted Czarist-era military building on a distant Baltic coast," "a time-worn camping shed," or the "decaying cafeteria terrace of the 1920's Tallinn Hippodrome." Markings on packing remnants are retained. Wood is cleaned and match to pieces, each of which comes numbered and with its provenance story.
Derelict Furniture, the brand and company, is the concept of Tõnis Kalve and Ahti Grünberg, both architects and interior designers, working from Tallinn, Estonia."

Cobrina wooden furniture collection by Torafu Architects

As always i am happy to see furniture collections like this one, made by the Japanese Studio Torafu Architects. They has designed small and lightweight products made of oak, the name Cobrina derives from the Japanese expression "Coburi-na" which is used to described small and undersized items. The whole nine pieces surfaces and legs are made in rounded edges. One functional and great looking collection, good job!
