This chair is innovative and redefines the appearance of regular tubular steel chair forms. Designed through the play and manipulation of the material, while considering proportions, dimensions and ergonomics. This design fits into a box and stacks; these aspects appeal to manufacturers. A light chair that can be easily lifted off the floor onto a table appeals to buyers and shop owners. This chair is something new to the competitive contract market.

Boss Chair by Tobias Nitsche for Danzer

"More deformation means more stability in a chair with less material," explains Tobias Nitsche, who designed the chair during his studies at ECALin Lausanne.

Boss is a plywood chair that combines traditional woodworking techniques with the use of 3d plywood.

I worked in cooperation with the German company Danzer who is producing the material. Using their technology gives the chance to construct a plywood chair with a more radical curvature.

Standard SP Chair by Hella Jongerius and Jean Prouvé's family

The Standard chair was originally designed in wood with thicker back legs, as these take more weight. Vitra is now producing the design with a plastic seat and back as a model named Standard SP, which has matte powder-coated metal legs.

Kachi-Katah Sculpture Chair Design by Masamune Kaji

The interaction the user has with Kachi-Katah is similar to the interaction with Ikebana. It is a Japanese flower arrangement, in which the user and the viewers experience a sense of imperfection, permanence and incompletion. Kachi-Katah is a sculpture that creates a sittable surface. When it is unfolded, the user can compose his environment, changing how it stands and how the blocks of the seatback create negative space.

THE BIG CHAIR PROJECT FOR THE BETTER FOOD FOUNDATION BY MICHELE LLANOS

What happens when chef Jaime Oliver raises money for his charity, the Better Food Foundation?? Well, of course, he enlists his friends and colleagues such as Sarah Burton, Christopher Bailey, Paul Smith, Tracy Emin, Quentin Blake, Julien Macdonald and Matthew Williamson, giving them creative carte blanche to create chairs. Not just any,ordinary chairs, each artist was given two Fritz Hansen (a long-standing supporter of the Fifteen enterprise) ANT™ chairs: one for practice and one for the masterpiece. Four of the artists decided to submit both chairs as part of their auction lot: Barnaby Purdy, Liberty, Nunzio Citro and Quentin Blake.

They are then auctioned off. This project coincides with the 10 year anniversary of Oliver’s restaurant chain, Fifteen, and its apprenticeship program that trains disenfranchised young people to become qualified chefs. Undoubtedly, Oliver is using every bit of his media attention and fortune to raise awareness and empower those who thought they were unwanted and unemployable, those whose perception of food was just quick, fast food, fried and consumed quickly without any attention to detail.

He has been steadily teaching people about the importance of clean food, and our relationship to food, talking about the importance of meals made at home, organic gardens, bringing community and communication together and understanding where it comes from, and how it is made. Oliver delivers all this information in the most beautiful way, presenting a lotus flower of compassionate information unfolding, and giving us back what already know but had collectively tossed years ago; giving us the gift of remembering of self love through food, which leads to a nutricious body and healthy mind, which in turn leads to merging with collective consciousness and unlimited opportunity.

Italian designer Simone Micheli has created the IT-IS kitchen for Euromobil.IT-IS is a contemporary kitchen distinguishing bright creativity kitchen, able to follow the “Living and Cooking” Euromobil philosophy. IT-IS is a 100% made in Italy project,defined fluent curves, which renovate the aesthetic features of the contemporary kitchen. State-of-the-art technologies and finely crafted details: tall units with central coplanar sliding doors and a curved tables with differentiated thickness provide excellent design. New drawers and deep drawers are in cord lacquer or stainless steel. Their fronts have oblique top edges, patented by Euromobil, for an easy grip. Extractable doors are equipped with a raised back for unparalleled sturdiness. A large spaces for an elegant IT-IS relaxation and living area, with original Désirée sofas.
